Bhut Jolkia is said to hold the 2007 Guinness Book of World Records as the hottest pepper with Scoville units in excess of 1,000,000 That is over 300 times hotter than most jalapenos to give you a frame of reference. Ghost peppers have wrinkled skin with very thin walls. They range from 2-3″ in length The plant itself will reach 3-4′ . Very productive. This pepper needs consistent heat to germinate. It prefers 80-85 F plus and is still slow to germinate so be patient as it can take 1-3 weeks Using a heat mat will greatly help keep a CONSTANT warm temperature. Dropping soil temps at night will delay germination. We start them in the greenhouse.
