100 SEEDS Orange Cockscomb Seeds Cockscomb (Celosia Cristata Nana Jessica Orange) - For a rather exotic looking annual, start some Cockscomb seeds in the early spring, and enjoy its long bloom season and vibrant colors. Celosia Cristata Nana is a short Cockscomb variety, and it is used as a bedding plant or in containers. Celosia Cristata is considered to be a crested variety of Celosia. The flower is definitely unique and has interesting wavy crests of fused flower stalks. Many people dry these unique blooms, and they are used in dried floral crafts and are considered to be everlastings. This Crested Celosia flower seed will produce blooms that are bright orange and very showy wherever they are grown. Celosia plants are known for their excellent performance in high heat and high humidity. Cockscomb does not perform well in areas with cool, wet summers. Cockscomb seeds can be started indoors to get a jump start on the growing season. Celosia roots prefer not to be disturbed, so it's recommended to start the flower seeds in peat pots that can be transplanted right into the ground. Press the flower seeds into the soil and lightly cover. Keep the flower seeds moist. For areas with a long growing season, Celosia seeds can be started directly outdoors in a prepared seedbed. The soil must be 60F or warmer for germination to occur. Use a application of a balanced fertilizer every few weeks during the blooming season.
