Cestrum aurantiacum is a shrub or tender perennial in the Solanaceae family. A native to North and South America. Some common names include Orange Cestrum, Yellow shrub Jessamine, Yellow Cestrum, Orange-Flowering Jessamine, and Orange Jessamine. It can grow to 10 feet tall and wide, with several shoots popping up at the base. It does have running roots and can pop up 12 feet away if left alone. It prefers full sun to part shade. The fragrant flowers come out in bunches that are trumpet-shaped. They are about an inch long with a sweet smell from mid-summer to mid-fall. Birds, bees, and butterflies visit this one. It grows well in most soils. Zones 8-11 Germination Sow seeds the thickness of the seeds on top of the medium and lightly cover. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover and keep temperatures around 65-75F. Germination is in 7-30 days.
