Chimonanthus praecox, commenly known as wintersweet, is a deciduous Shrub growing to 3 m (9ft) by 3 m (9ft) at a medium rate. It blooms from November to March, and the seeds ripen from May to June. It has been valued for its very fragrant flowers. The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and is pollinated by Insects.Suitable Soil: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils and prefers well-drained soil.
