This listing is for a bag of 100+ black eyed Susan variety seeds (Rudbeckia hirta). The photos included in this listing are of some of the mother plants these seeds come from. Most of the plants are typical in appearance, but some have red coloration in their flowers and some of them even double bloomed! Black eyed Susans are very easy to grow and grow very quickly in a variety of conditions. I’ve personally grown them in conditions from in full sun to in partial shade, although they seem to do better and grow quicker in full sun. Once the seedlings are about 4 inches tall and established, they will require little watering. I usually water them enough to keep them hydrated until they’re established and then I neglect them the rest of the year, only watering them when there’s been extended heat spells and drought, and they seem to do very well on their own. Black eyed Susans attract a wide range of pollinator insects. I’ve seen a wide variety of bees, bumblebees, and butterflies, as well as goldenrod soldier beetles, ambush bugs, and sphinx moths. They are typically the “busiest” flowers in my entire pollinator plots! These seeds are organic and have been collected from a pesticide, herbicide, and fertilizer free zone.
