These club-shaped, soft-skinned yellow squashes are among the quickest producing garden crops, ready to harvest in as little as 50 days. This is a great variety to grow and have bountiful harvest from spring through to fall. The flavor of Straightneck Squash is mildly sweet and buttery, with a juicy flesh. This is a great variety to slice and sauté with simple spices, but also goes well in soups, casseroles or grilled. The squash flower blossoms are also edible and can be fried up or turned into fritters.
