This is a larval host for the Afranius Duskywing, Melissa Blue, Meads Sulphur, Shasta Blue, Western Tailed-Blue , Acmon Blue, Queen Alexandras Sulphur, Southern Cloudywing, Silvery Blue, Reakirts Blue, Marine Blue, and Arrowhead Blue butterflies. The cooked fruit tastes similar to green beans. USDA Hardiness Zones 3b to 8.
