White Half Runner Bean52 Days A “pole” type plant produces excellent yields of delicious 4" long green beans. Beans are very flavorful produced on shorter pole type vines that should not need staking but allows for more beans to be produced than a bush type. Excellent for freezing and canning variety. Half Runner is a superior, rust-resistant, vigorous plant producing early-yielding round pods that make great snaps. Beans are very easy to grow and manage. This group of beans is a favorite for the home garden and can be grown just about anywhere because they have a relatively short growing season. Fun Facts: 1. A terrific bean for small spaces2. For the best flavor and crispness steam the beans rather than boil3. Harvest beans when they are 4" for best flavor USES:They can be used fresh, dried, or frozen. Picking beans continuously for new flowers production and more beans! Sow seed directly in late spring after weather has warmed and all danger of frost has passed about 2 inches apart, when day temperatures reach around 60 degrees F, in full sun and loose, well drained soil. Plant seeds in hills or rows about 2 feet apart. Germination results in 5-10 days depending upon soil and weather conditions. Keep soil moderately moist during germination. They can be planted from seed as soon as the soil is warm, Plant again 10 weeks before first frost for a late summer / fall harvest To increase harvest, bush beans can be planted every two weeks. If you need to add nitrogen, 1 pound per 100 square feet is plenty. You do not need to soak beans prior to planting. Plant Care: For the biggest yields grow plants in raised composted beds.
