Seeds. THE SEEDS NEED AT LEAST TWO MONTHS OF COLD REFRIGERATION/FREEZER TO BREAK DORMANCY OR THEY WILL NOT SPROUT! Comfrey is a perennial herb, zone 3-9. It develops purple flowers in summer. The leaves are hairy. The plant prefers full sun and moist soil. It is best to plant the seeds directly outdoors so the winter cycle can germinate the seeds. If you cannot do this, then the seeds need 3 months of cold refrigeration before planting to break the dormancy of the seed. Do not skip this step or the seeds will not germinate. After the cold cycle, plant the seeds by barely covering with soil and keep moist until they germinate which can be 3 to 4 weeks. 20 seeds per pkg.
