"Husker Red" Foxglove Beardtongue, Penstemon is a nice, low-maintenance perennial to add to your flower garden. It deep maroon foliage in the spring and transitions to white flowers in mid summer. It's also drought tolerant, and deer and rabbit resistant. Likes to grow in small clumps - flowers reach 24-30 inches tall in early summer. Flowers are enjoyed by pollinators especially bees. Easy to germinate from seed and grow, does not require cold stratification and germinates 10-14 days. Once established, plants can be divided in early spring or fall.
