Purple lobelia (Lobelia Vedrariensis) is perennial to zones 9-11 but is grown as an annual elsewhere. It is also called Cardinal flower. Grows 18 to 24 inches tall and develops purple flowers midsummer to early fall. Prefers mostly shade, will tolerate a little morning sun. Space plants 12 inches apart. Press the seed onto moist soil and keep moist and in light until it germinates in 14 to 21 days. 40 seeds per pkg.
