Common names are Eastern Bee Balm, Bradbury's Beebalm, Horsemint, and Wild Bergamot. A native to the southeast United States in the mint family. It grows 2 feet tall and wide. The weird square branches make this one different. The flowerheads are around 2 inches wide and cone-shaped. The florets will come out of the center first and tubular-shaped. They are five-lobed in lavender, light pink, or even white color. Blooming in mid-summer until early fall, they would like full sun to part shade. They can grow in soils well-drained with strong acids as well. Zones 4-8 Germination Sow seeds the thickness of the seeds on top of the medium and lightly cover. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover and keep temperatures around 65-75F. Germination is in 7-30 days.
