Salvia officinalis is a herbaceous perennial subshrub in the Lamiaceae family. Some common names are sage, common sage, garden sage, golden sage, kitchen sage, true sage, culinary sage, Dalmatian sage, and broadleaf sage. A native to the Mediterranean region and spread across the world. It has fragrant grayish-green leaves. It grows to about 2 feet tall and wide. It is in bloom from late Spring until Midsummer. Its lavender flowers can also come out in different colors such as white, pink, purple, rose, cream, and yellow. These seeds came from a purple plant. Used for centuries as a herb in culinary it has also been to ward off evil, helping snake bites, increasing fertility, and more. It prefers to grow in full sun with well-drained soil. Zones 4-9GerminationSow seeds 1/8" deep and lightly cover with a medium. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover with plastic but maintain a temperature around 65-75F. Germination 7-30 days.
